PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll screen which is moved down with its dead weight smoothly when the lower end of the screen is stopped. SOLUTION: The roll screen comprises a braking mechanism 40 for imparting braking force to a winding pipe 16, and a delaying operation mechanism 50. The braking mechanism 40 consists of a housing, a rotor to be rotated integrally with the winding pipe, and a resistant element for producing sliding resistance with the housing and the rotor being relatively rotated. The delaying operation mechanism 50 consists of a fixed body 52 fixed to a fixing shaft, and a follower 58 rotatable relative to the fixed body 52 at a predetermined angle and rotatable integrally with the housing 42a of he braking mechanism 40. During the predetermined-frequency rotation of the winding pipe 16 when the operation of a stopper is cancelled, the rotor and the housing are both rotated, thereby preventing the operation of the braking mechanism 40 during a time from the upward movement of a weight bar provided at the lower end of the screen and set in a stopped condition to the predetermined-distance downward movement thereof.
