摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of compatibly reducing an energization amount to a heater when an internal combustion engine is automatically stopped, and ensuring the responsiveness to the detection request of the air-fuel ratio after the internal combustion engine is re-started. SOLUTION: A control device of an internal combustion engine includes: an exhaust emission purification catalyst provided in an exhaust passage of the internal combustion engine; an air-fuel ratio sensor provided in the exhaust passage, a heater for raising the temperature of the air-fuel ratio sensor, a temperature control means for controlling the temperature of the air-fuel ratio sensor to the target value by controlling the energization amount to the heater; an automatic control means which automatically stops the internal combustion engine when the automatic stopping condition of the internal combustion engine is established, and restarts the internal combustion engine when the automatic stopping condition is released; and a period estimation means for estimating the detection non-request period before the detection request of the air-fuel ratio is output firstly to the air-fuel ratio sensor after the internal combustion engine is restarted when the automatic control means automatically stops the internal combustion engine.
