AIR ADMITTANCE VALVE ASSEMBLY

The valve assembly (10) is comprised of a valve body (11) having an internal valve chamber (16) in communication with the ambient environment with a valv e seat (17) of a predetermined configuration. The assembly further has a cap structure (12) with means (20) to position and align a sealing membrane (25) with respect to the valve seat (17). A flexible elastomeric sealing diaphrag m (25) is provided which is under tension when the diaphragm is in sealing configuration. A carrier plate structure (20) may be provided to position th e sealing diaphragm (25). The sealing member (25) is in tension adjacent to th e sealing seat (17) when in a sealing position.
