The device has a wind deflector frame and a covering frame connected with each other by a pivot joint, and sub frames connected with each other by another pivot joint. One of the frames is formed as a double joint (10a) that includes two axes with two movable arms (14) and a connecting element (15) for mounting the double joint. The device is folded into a usage position from a double folded retaining position. The double joint has a synchronization device for synchronizing the folding of the arms into the and/or from the usage position.
