PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the accident such that a recording medium is destroyed to lose important recording information since the reduction of an imaging apparatus body in size or integration of a circuit board is progressed so that the body may be easily dropped or hit to easily receive shock applied thereto. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus of the present invention includes a camera unit 102, a signal processing circuit board 103 for performing signal processing upon an image captured by the camera unit 102, and a recording medium for recording the image thereon, wherein the recording medium is disposed between the camera unit and the signal processing board and further is disposed at a position housed within a projection area of the camera unit or of the signal processing board.
