PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and a program thereof, capable of focusing on a subject other than the subject to be a photography trigger. SOLUTION: When a shutter button is half-pressed (Y at S2), face recognition processing for recognizing a face in image data is started (S3) to determine whether or not the face has been recognized (S4). When it is determined that the face has been recognized (Y at S4), AF processing is performed to the recognized face (S5). Then, when the shutter button is fully pressed (Y at S6), the pattern recognition processing for recognizing a prescribed pattern is started (S7) and, when the prescribed pattern is recognized (Y at S8), still picture photography processing is performed (S10).
