PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrain the deformation of a discharge port and separation between an orifice plate and a recording element substrate in an ink-jet head comprising the recording element substrate and the orifice plate. SOLUTION: In the ink-jet head, a plurality of supply ports include a first supply port disposed on one end side of the recording element substrate, and a second supply port disposed on the other end side opposite to one end of the recording element substrate with respect to a direction of arrangement. With respect to the direction of arrangement, a space between the other end and the second supply port is smaller than a space between one end and the first supply port, and a contact area between the recording element substrate and second passage walls that form a plurality of second ink passages communicating with the second supply port is larger than a contact area between the recording element substrate and first passage walls that form a plurality of first ink passages communicating with the first supply port.
