A waterworks detector is provided to remove inconvenience of waterworks inspection by transferring detection result to indoor with wireless telecommunication and detecting the amount of tap water used by using an infrared sensor. An infrared sensor detects the total usage of tap water. The infrared sensor is mounted on a wireless communications module. The detected total usage of tap water is transferred to a coordinator of indoor by the wireless communications module. The sensor is communicated with the coordinator. This sensor solves a problem about water proof and dampproofing.
