The method involves arranging a fuel pump (5) i.e. tank interior pump, in the interior of a fuel tank (1) for supplying fuel (2) to an internal combustion engine of a vehicle. Rear side (7) of the pump is led to a detachable interface (9) i.e. quick coupler, where the detachable interface lies at an outer side of the fuel tank. The fuel pump is subjected to a low-pressure over the interface for emptying of the fuel tank. A low-pressure suction is implemented by suction devices, where the low-pressure suction takes place by the low-pressure. An independent claim is also included for a device for emergency emptying of a fuel tank of a vehicle.
