PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating body capable of being reduced in occurrence of incomplete breakage of a heat generating body even when a substrate is broken due to current runaway and abnormal temperature rise. SOLUTION: The heating body 3 comprises the substrate 3a, the heat generating body 3b which generates heat by current flow and is provided along the longitudinal direction of the substrate on the substrate, and a protecting layer 3c covering the opposite side of the substrate of the heat generating body. The heat generating body is a carbonaceous heat generating body; and the adhesion strength of the carbonaceous heat generating body and the substrate is larger than that of the carbonaceous heat generating body and the protecting layer.
