PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a wiring length from a photoelectric converting element package to a drive circuit or to a signal processing circuit. SOLUTION: A photoelectric converting element unit includes: a photoelectric converting element package 101 including a photoelectric converting element 105; a wiring board 102 where the photoelectric converting element package is mounted on a first side thereof and an electronic component 107 relating to the photoelectric converting element is mounted on a rear side of the first side; and a supporting plate 103 on which the photoelectric converting element package is fixed and which is mounted to a mounting part 104 in the imaging apparatus. On the supporting plate, an opening 109 is formed which is smaller than an outer form of the photoelectric converting element package and within the opening, the electronic component mounted on the wiring board is disposed.
