Two-stage bottle washing process for recycled bottling plant

The process makes use of a hot (90 degrees C) pre-soak bath, a caustic solution bath and a rinsing bath station (3). In the caustic washing liquid circuit (4) the caustic solution is continually removed from the caustic bath, subjected to ultra-filtration, and is then returned to the caustic bath and reused. In the second fluid circuit (6), water from the final rinsing bath (3) station is discharged to a treatment station (9) producing a water fraction containing few impurities and a water fraction bearing a moderate load of impurities. The water bearing the light load of impurities is mixed with fresh water and recycled to the final rinsing station (3.1). The second fraction bearing the moderate load of impurities is discharged to the pre-soak bath (1) prior to disposal.
