PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability by bringing a security function into action, only when the antitheft measure is required, and to achieve security protection for the recording medium over both hard and soft aspects by performing also the measure against the theft of data recorded on the recording medium. SOLUTION: When it is determined from acquired key information that the user is absent, a system controller 1 (control means) sets the recording medium such as an HD to an unload forbidden state, and when it is determined that the user is present, the system controller controls the security function so as to cancel the unload forbidden state of the recording medium. Further, when it is determined from the acquired key information that the user is absent, the system controller sets the recording medium such as the HD to the access forbidden state, and when it is determined that the user is present, the system controller controls the security function so as to cancel the access forbidden state of the recording medium.
