<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus that includes a multitubular reactor which is almost free from the fear that a reaction gas emitted from a catalyst layer is successively subjected to oxidation reaction in a channel and causes an explosive combustion reaction, and can be suitably used for producing (meth)acrolein in high safety and stably. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for producing (meth)acrolein includes the multitubular reactor 1 for obtaining (meth)acrolein by subjecting a raw material gas to vapor-phase catalytic oxidation in the presence of a catalyst. The multitubular reactor 1 includes a plurality of reaction tubes 22 packed with a catalyst, tube plates 21a and 21b to which both ends of the reaction tubes 22 are fixed in a bundled state, a shell 20 to which the tube plates 21a and 21b are fixed, channels 10 and 30 arranged at the exit sides of the reaction tubes 22 of the shell 20 and a cooler 40 arranged in the channel 10 in which the reaction gas retains.
