A plastic optical fiber cable which comprises a bare optical fiber comprising both a core made of polymethyl methacrylate or a methyl methacrylate base copolymer and a clad layer having a specific fluorine-containing olefin resin layer at least as the outermost layer and a cover around the periphery of the bare optical fiber, wherein the cover is composed of a protection coat layer, a light cut-off coat layer, and a functional coat layer which are arranged in this order from the inside, the protection coat layer being made from a specific resin material, the light cut-off coat layer being made from a nylon 11 or 12 base nylon resin wherein the total content of monomers and oligomers resulting from nylon resin falls within a specific range, and the functional coat layer being made either from a nylon resin composition which contains a specific amount of melamine cyanurate or bromine atoms and a specific amount of a chromatic inorganic pigment and which has a crystalline melting point falling within a specific range or from a nylon resin composition having a crystalline melting point and oxygen permeability which fall within specific ranges respectively. |
