A microwave oven is provided to flow some of air on in exhaust channel into a cavity without using an additional fan for moving the air into the cavity to thereby heat cooking materials placed in the cavity rapidly and uniformly. A microwave oven includes an external case(20), a cavity(10), a door(9), an exhaust channel, and a fan assembly(74). The cavity is placed in the external case. The cavity forms a cooking room(11). The door opens/closes the cooking room. The exhaust channel discharges air flowing into the external case. The fan assembly forcibly blows air into the exhaust channel. An opening(14) is formed in close proximity to the door. Some of the air in the exhaust channel flows into the cavity through the opening.
