The invention concerns a method for processing signals produced by a set of N photodetectors, in response to a phenomenon to be detected, in which a cellular architecture (88, 90-1....90-6, 92, 94), associated with each photodetector (60), enables to compare the flux it receives with the flux of the neighbouring photodetectors (160-1,...,160-6), and to determine which set of photdetectors to take into account for a given interaction. Characteristic quantities of the interaction can then be computed.
