PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform determination of nonconformity of fuel properties and injection quantity, and to make a change to fuel injection quantity corresponding to the fuel properties even before complete explosion in an engine. SOLUTION: A control device for determining the fuel injection quantity to an engine, in which injection of fuel and explosion of fuel are intermittently performed, determines the injection quantity based on the change speed of engine condition in the first explosion. Even before the engine reaches the complete explosion, a determination of nonconformity of the fuel properties to the injection quantity and a change to the fuel injection quantity corresponding to the fuel properties can be performed. Therefore, engine starting time can be shortened even in the first operation cycle after supplying fuel having a different property. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
