PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator, improving disinfection effect as ion concentration in a refrigerating chamber becomes non-uniform to lower the disinfection effect in the refrigerating chamber. SOLUTION: This refrigerator includes a storage chamber 2 for cooling and preserving stored material; a cooler 11 for generating cold air; a cold air passage 32 disposed at the back of the storage chamber 2 to circulate the cold air generated by the cooler 11; discharge openings 104a, 104b opened to the cold air passage 32 to discharge the cold air to the storage chamber 2; and an ion generator disposed in the cold air passage 32 to generate ions, wherein the cold air passage branches off to first and second branch passages after the cold air flows in from the cooler, and the ion generator is provided before a fork of the cold air passage.
