The receiver has an automatic amplification control unit (25) receiving a converted radio frequency signal for producing a control signal for a tuner (21). A Fast Fourier transformation unit (26) performs Fast Fourier Transformation operation on the two signals. A demodulator (24) receives the signals for producing transport flow, where an intensity display signal of the received radio frequency signal is determined on the basis of signals from the control unit. A quality display signal of the radio frequency signal is determined on the basis of signal from the transformation unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for displaying quality and intensity of signals.
