PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a read head that can preferably cope with the increase of recording density of a magnetic storage medium without deteriorating characteristics of the read head even when the size of a read element is reduced; a magnetic head; and a magnetic storage device. SOLUTION: The read head includes the read element 10 including a free layer and magnetic domain control layers 20a, 20b controlling a magnetic domain of the free layer. The magnetic domain control layers 20a, 20b comprise a soft magnetic material including at least one kind of Fe, Co, Ni. The ratio a/b of a length (a) of the magnetic domain control layers 20a, 20b in a core width direction to a length (b) in a height direction is≥5, and the length (b) of the magnetic domain control layers 20a, 20b in the height direction is≤100.
