A method for searching disconnection in a token-ring network is provided to enable a user to search the location of a short-circuit in a network line conveniently by adding an RBD(Ring Bread Diagnosis) signal flag when transmitting a token. When a malfunction occurs in a network line(S41), an RBD flag values between stations connected in ring shape are compared with an RBD flag value(S42). The connection circuit between stations including the different shapes of RBD flag values are detected as a disconnected section(S43). An RBD flag value is stored as "0" in a network initialization state. The RBD flag value is transmitted with a token and the RBD flag value of a station operating in a master state is set up as "1".
