An LCD is provided to prevent authentically light leakage generated in a transmission display area, thereby improving contrast. An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display)(1) comprises a transmission display part(12), a reflection display part(14), and a slit. The transmission display part inserts and maintains a liquid crystal layer(50) between a first substrate(20), and performs transmission display within one pixel(3). The reflection display part performs reflection display. A first electrode(36) and a second electrode(42) controlling the orientation of the liquid crystal molecule of the liquid crystal layer are installed in the first substrate. The slit is formed to extend along an orthogonal axis orthogonal to the boundary line of the transmission display part and the reflection display part in one side of the first electrode and the second electrode. |
