PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which simplifies customization or expansion, etc. of functions and efficiently executes jobs. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has: a job constituting means for selecting corresponding software components for each processing constituting jobs to determine a processing order of the software components thereby constituting procedures of the jobs; a job control means for controlling the jobs based on the procedures of the jobs; and an alternative processing selection means for selecting, when one of the processing constituting the jobs can not be executed, alternative processing instead of the one of the processing, wherein the job constituting means reconstructs the procedures of the jobs based on the processing selected by the alternative processing selection means.
