PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep display quality of a display device and a television receiver high. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device D includes: a liquid crystal panel 10 capable of displaying an image; control boards 21SU which control drive of the liquid crystal panel 10 and are disposed adjacently to an upper side 10a in a perpendicular direction of the liquid crystal panel 10 and whose plate surfaces are made nearly parallel to a plate surface of the liquid crystal panel 10; flexible boards 18 each of which has flexibility and each one end side and the other end side of which are connected to the liquid crystal panel 10 and the control boards 21SU, respectively; and supporting parts 35 supporting the control boards 21SU to the upper side 10a in the perpendicular direction of the liquid crystal panel 10.
