PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear actuator whose output axis is shortened, by removing the protrusion of the output axis opposite to the output and that can effectively make use of the strokes of the output axis. SOLUTION: The linear actuator includes a drive nut member 26, disposed inside a hollow axis 25 of a rotor 24 in a motor 22, the output axis 27 that is inserted inside the hollow axis 25 and on the peripheral surface on which a threaded portion 27a that is spirally engaged with a threaded portion 26a of a drive nut member 26 is formed; a frame 29 where a bearing 31 that axially supports a side opposite to the output of the rotor 24; an end axis 36 that is securely fixed to the side opposite to the output of the output axis 27; a connecting member 41 that is securely fixed to the output axis side of the output axis 27; a linear axis 43, disposed in parallel with the output axis 27 that is securely fixed to the connection member 41; and a sliding guide mechanism 42, that has a linear bearing 44 that slidably holds the linear axis 43 and closes an end face of the output axis in the motor 22.
