PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dishwasher capable of promptly generating a required amount of steam while preventing the overheat of a steam generator. SOLUTION: The dishwasher includes the steam generator for supplying the steam to a washing tub housing dishes. In the dishwasher, the steam generator includes a main body part for storing water inside, a heater for heating the water stored inside the main body part, and a thermistor disposed at the bottom part of the main body part. In the dishwasher, the steam generator evaporates the water stored inside the main body part by the heating of the heater and generates the steam. In the dishwasher, the temperature detection part of the thermistor of the steam generator is disposed at a position higher than the inner side bottom surface of the main body part. In the dishwasher, the steam generator stops the heating of the heater when the detected temperature of the thermistor drops while heating is performed by the heater. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
