PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a gap over the entire sectional area of a circular iron core of stationary type electromagnetic equipment such as a transformer and a reactor, and to suppress iron loss due to leakage of magnetic flux on an outer peripheral surface. SOLUTION: The circular iron core is formed by forming a cylindrical magnetic steel plate block by stacking many magnetic steel plates which are curved with constant curvature in the radial direction of a circle and made narrow in the radial direction, and concentrically stacking magnetic steel plate blocks in order in the radial direction of the circle. The circular iron core comprising the stack of the magnetic steel plate blocks is equivalent to magnetic steel plates which are radially disposed, and no short-circuit current is caused even when a coil is wound around the outer periphery of the circular iron core. Also, leakage magnetic flux pass through the magnetic steel plates along the width direction and never passes through the magnetic steel plates along the thickness direction. Consequently, occurrence of an eddy current due to the leakage magnetic flux is suppressed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
