Class 82(2) Apparatus for removing leaves, straw and like light foreign matter from a washing trough for agricultural products comprises an endless chain or like mounted above the trough and from which a plurality of leaf rakes are pivotally suspended so as to hang into the trough, and a compressed-air conduit extending lengthwise along the bottom of the trough and having outlets permitting air to be introduced into a washing stream in the trough so as to ensure that the light foreign matter remains at or near the-surface of the said stream. As shown, bores 4 are formed in the trough 1 and compressed air is forced into the washing current 9 into which suspend pivotally from chain 8 the leaf catching rakes 7.
