PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and a method for clearance control of a turbine blade tip. SOLUTION: An inner shell (10) for a rotating machine includes at least one segment and at least one complementary segment in operable communication with the at least one segment, both the segments (24) forming a support structure for a shroud ring, wherein at least one segment and at least one complementary segment are individually moved to change a set of dimensions defined by at least one segment and at least one complementary segment.
