<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic charging device moving a cleaning member without causing imbalance in a discharging space, providing a discharging member with a favorable cleaning performance, and uniforming a surface of an image carrying body to charge the body electrostatically. <P>SOLUTION: This electrostatic charging device 40 is provided with: a cleaning bar 46 being a bar-like member, extended in parallel with the direction of installation of the discharging member, and provided with the cleaning member 45 at its one end; a handle part 47 provided in an end part on the opposite side to a side where the cleaning member 45 of the cleaning bar 46 is provided, and pulling/storing the cleaning bar 46 out of/in a shield case 41; and a locking piece 48 provided near the handle part 47 and abutted on the shield case 41 to prevent the cleaning bar 46 from moving in the direction of storage in the shield case 41 beyond a predetermined position of the cleaning member 45. A section in an end part on a cleaning member 45 side is thereby prevented from being abutted on any part after the storage of the cleaning bar 46 in the shield case 41 is completed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
