<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic bottle the barrel of which can be held with one hand more easily. <P>SOLUTION: The plastic bottle 1 has a barrel 4. The barrel 4 has an approximately square cross-sectional shape defined by a plurality of walls including a front wall 41, a rear wall 42, a left wall 43, and a right wall 44. At least the front wall 41 or rear wall 42 has a pair or recesses 56 and 57 that can be pulled by inserting finger tips therein. The pair of recesses 56 and 57 are separated by a pillar section 58. Each of the recesses 56 and 57 includes a bottom wall 91, a first side wall 94 extending upward from the bottom wall 91 toward the pillar section 58, and a second side wall 95 extending upward from the bottom wall 91 so as to be opposite the first side wall 94.
