The connector has connection fitting parts (9) partly accommodated in hollow spaces (10) and/or opened and closed by an articulated and/or linked edge (27). The edge is formed at an outside surface of a connector housing (6). A locking arm (18) is provided for holding the housing and a fitting connector housing in a connected condition at another outside surface of the housing (6). A restraining device (17A) is arranged on one of the outside surfaces of the housing (6). The restraining device is partly overlapped with the arm in a resettable distorting direction of the arm. An independent claim is also included for a method for forming a connector.
