PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently carry out a continuous concentration without allowing any analytic object in a test water to vaporize or change morphologically while suppressing contamination of the test water. SOLUTION: The test water is brought to contact with a highly osmotic material through a water-permeable semipermeable membrane and causes water in the test water to penetrate the highly osmotic material side, thereby concentrating the analytic object, and then the highly osmotic material in contact with the test water is concentrated by using another concentrating means, and the concentrated highly osmotic material is cyclically used for concentrating the test water. An apparatus for concentrating the test water is composed of a water-permeable semipermeable membrane device 1 for concentrating the test water, a tank 2 for reserving the highly osmotic material, and a water-permeable semipermeable membrane device 3 for concentrating the highly osmotic material.
