APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR SMALL-SCALE PRODUCTION OF FLEXOGRAPHIC PLATES HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED. ARTWORK FILM IS BROUGHT TO CLOSE-UP AIRLESS CONTACT WITH LIQUID PHOTOPOLYMER MATERIAL. THE THICKNESS OF RESULTING FLEXOGRAPHIC PLATE IS CAREFULLY CONTROLLED WITH WEIGHING OUT THE NEEDED AMOUNT OF LIQUID PHOTOPOLYMER AND USING LAPPED STAINLESS BARS OF EQUAL HEIGHT AS SPACER. LIQUID PHOTOPOLYMER IS EXPOSED TO UV (A10R) RADIATION. AFTER THE EXPOSURE, UNPOLYMERIZED LIQUID PHOTOPOLYMER IS RETRIEVED AND THE FLEXOGRAPHIC PLATE IS WASHED IN A WASH-OUT MACHINE TO CLEAN OFF THE REMAINING LIQUID PHOTOPOLYMER. THE PLATE IS LATER CURED AND HARDENED IN POST CURING PROCESS IN ORDER TO PRODUCE LONG PRESS LIFETIME FLEXOGRAPHIC PLATES. CURING IS CARRIED OUT WITH FLEXOGRAPHIC PLATE EXPOSED TO UV A AND IMMERSED DETECT AGENT SOLUTION. THE SAID PLATE IS FURTHER DRIED CURED BY EXPOSING IT TO UV C RADIATION TO HARDEN THE RELIEF.
