These use of metal silsesquioxanes derived from the reaction product of silsequioxane trisilanols of the formula R₇Si₇O₉(OH)₃, where R can be isobutyl or phenyl, with a metal alkoxide for the catalysis of polycondensation polymers, such as polyethylene terephthalate are described herein.
