A brush material is provided to remove burr occurred at the corner or surface of a work piece and improve grinding performance. A brush material(11) comprises a brush base(12a) composed of a plurality of metal brush hair; and a covering later(14) formed on the surface of the brush base. The sectional area of the brush base is circle or polygon. An abrasive(13) is mixed in the covering layer. The abrasive is at least one selected from alumina, silicon carbide, oxide cerium, diamond.
