FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: 6-methylhydrocortisone and its 11-alkanoyloxy-derivatives are obtained by method that includes preliminary protection of 11,- 17- and 21-hydroxy groups of hydrocortisone or its 21-acyloxy-derivative in step-by-step way with formation of 17,20;20,21-bismethylenedioxy-derivative (BMDO-protection of dioxyacetone side chain) and further sterification of 11-hydroxy group, methylenisation of C6 position, reduction of 6-methylene group into 6-methyl one. 6-methylprednisolone or its 11-alkanoyloxy-derivatives are obtained by reaction of 1,2-dehydrogenation of 6-methylhydrocortisone and its 11-alkanoyloxy-derivatives by microbiological transformation by means of microbial cells.
