摘要 A ferromagnetic iron-based alloy which can have a large reversible strain upon application/removal of a magnetic-field gradient.The iron-based alloy contains one or more of 0.01-11% Al, 0.01-7% Si, and 0.01-26% Cr or contains one or more of 0.01-11% Al, 0.01-7% Si, 0.01-26% Cr, and 35-50% Ni. It has twin crystals incorporated therein through working at a rate of work of 10% or higher, and has an areal proportion of twin boundaries to crystal-grain boundaries of 0.2 or higher. According to need, the alloy may further contain one or more of 0.01-5% Ti, 0.01-10% V, 0.01-5% Mn, 0.01-30% Co, 0.01-10% Ni, 0.01-5% Cu, 0.01-5% Zr, 0.01-5% Nb, 0.01-5% Mo, 0.01-5% Hf, 0.01-5% Ta, 0.01-5% W, 0.001-1% B, 0.001-1% C, 0.001-1% P, and 0.001-1% S.
