DIELECTRIC ELASTOMER COMPOSITION AND HIGH-FREQUENCY ELECTRONIC COMPONENT MATERIAL

This invention provides a dielectric elastomer composition, which possesses satisfactory dielectric properties as a high-frequency electronic component material and can if necessary impart excellent flame retardancy while taking into consideration an influence on environment, and a high-frequency electronic component material produced by molding the composition. The dielectric elastomer composition is produced by mixing (A) carbon black and (B) at least one powder selected from a magnesium hydroxide powder and a dielectric ceramic powder with an elastomer. The carbon black has an average particle diameter of 50 to 200 nm, and the amount of the carbon black mixed is 5 to 40 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of the elastomer. The magnesium hydroxide powder contains not more than 0.02% by weight of diiron trioxide and has a dielectric constant of 3 or more and a dielectric dissipation factor of 0.01 or less as measured under any one of (1) conditions of frequency 400 MHz and temperature 30ºC and (2) conditions offrequency 5 GHz and temperature 25ºC.
