<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the acquisition of a desired image volume and thereby substantially reducing need repeat scans and enhancing workflow. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes obtaining a first desired image data set representative of a first desired image, where the first desired image data set is acquired at a first position of the image acquisition device. Further, the method includes recording positional information corresponding to the first position of the image acquisition device. In addition, the method includes obtaining a second desired image data are representative of a second desired image, where the second desired image data set is acquired at a second position of an image acquisition device. The method also includes recording positional information corresponding to the second position of the image acquisition device.; Moreover, the method includes acquiring image data between the first position and the second position of the image acquisition device.
