PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent knocking after refueling without providing a sensor detecting alcohol mixing ratio in an internal combustion engine capable of using mixed fuel of gasoline and alcohol, or selectively using gasoline or alcohol. SOLUTION: A control device for an engine includes a refueling detection means S105 for detecting the presence or absence of refueling, a mixing ratio estimating means S112 for estimating a mixing ratio of ethanol contained in fuel, an estimation completion determining means S113 for determining whether estimation by the mixing ratio estimating means S112 is completed, and ignition control means S107 for igniting an igniter at an ignition timing that is retarded from an optimum ignition timing based on an actual mixing ratio, during a predetermined period until the estimation completion determining means S113 determines that the estimation is completed after detection of refueling.
