PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To open a top of a luggage compartment by smoothly bending a tonneau board covering the top of the luggage compartment in a flush-deployed state. SOLUTION: A tonneau board device comprises a pair of rails 30 mounted to both side walls 13 of a luggage compartment 12 in an upwardly inclined posture from the back side of a vehicle 10 at the front side of the vehicle, a pair of sliders 60 capable of moving the pair of rails 30, and a tonneau board 70 having a plurality of plates 72a, 72b, 72c and 72d divided in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle 10 and bent parts 74 for connecting them to one another so as to be bendable. A rear portion of the tonneau board 70 is mounted to the slider 60. When a back door 14 is opened, the rear end of the tonneau board 70 is lifted upwardly forward of the vehicle 10, and the tonneau board 70 opens a top of the luggage compartment 12 so that its rear portion is folded on a forward portion.
