[Also in Group XVII] A blank for an envelope of the kind in which a tuck-in flap is an extension of one wall and a pocket for receiving this flap is provided by a flap on the other wall which is turned down and adhesively secured at its end to the latter wall comprises a front panel 1 having a tuck-in flap extension 17 and sealing flap extensions 21, 23 and a back panel 2 having a pocket forming flap 32. The envelope is formed by folding the panel 2 onto the panel 1, applying strips of adhesive 19, 20 to the flaps 21, 23, the latter being secured to the panel 2, while the strip 20 is dried. The tuck-in flap is folded onto the panel 2 about an intermediate line 16 and the flaps 17, 32 are then simultaneously folded about their base-lines 27, 27<SP>1</SP> and the flap 32 is secured to the panel 1 by adhesive spots 31 which may alternatively be applied to corresponding parts of the panel 1. The flap 17 is thus formed tucked into the pocket formed by the flap 32 and the other end of the envelope may be closed by the flap 21 after the contents have been inserted. |
