A protein involving in peptidoglycan-recognition signal pathway of Tenebrio molitor is provided to detect the bacterial infection among the analyte including blood. A Tenebrio molitor-derived protein is made of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:1. A gene coding the Tenebrio molitor-derived protein is made of the base sequence of SEQ ID NO:2. A kit for detecting the bacterial infection among analytes comprises Tenebrio molitor-derived protein made of the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:1. The analyte is blood for blood transfusion, blood of mammal, food, tap water, subsurface water, rainwater or sterile product.
