PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily measure the external shape of an animal. SOLUTION: This external shape measuring system 1 for animals, is provided with an annular body 2 through which the animal A passes; a plurality of outer-diameter measuring portions 3 arranged at intervals on the inner circumferential edge of the annular body 2 for measuring the outside diameters of the animal A passing through the annular body 2; and an analysis device 4 for acquiring the data on the external shape of the animal A, based on data acquired by the measuring portions 3. Since the external shape of the animal A can be measured, by merely making the animal A pass through the annular body 2, it is not no longer necessary to make the animal A set stationary in the external shape measurement of the animal A, as in prior art, and measurements do not take much time and become simple.
