PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a layered silicate compound introduced with a vinyl group reactive with a resin such as a vinyl chloride resin, and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This layered silicate compound 1 has a structure where an organic compound 3 having a vinyl group is bonded with an interlayer part of a layered silicate 2. This method for producing the layered silicate compound 1 comprises the steps of obtaining a suspension (A) by dispersing the layered silicate 2 in water, obtaining an aqueous solution (B) by dissolving the organic compound 3 having a vinyl group in water, obtaining a mixed liquid by mixing and stirring the suspension (A) and the solution (B), and drying a settled and separated product produced from the mixed liquid.
