<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protein regulating various adipocyte-related activity including UCP expression in adipocyte, heat generation, differentiation and insulin sensitivity. <P>SOLUTION: The invention provides an antisense nucleic acid molecule, a recombinant expression vector containing PGC-1 nucleic acid molecule, a host cell into which the expression vector is introduced, and a nonhuman transgenic animal in which a PGC-1 gene is introduced or disrupted.
