A loading system for use with a haul vehicle (12) and a loading machine (20) configured to load material (24) onto the haul vehicle (12) is disclosed. Th loading system has an identification tag (2'6) located on the haul vehicle, a identification tag reader (30) configured to recognize the identification ta and a transmitter (32) configured to deliver a first signal including information related to the identification tag. The loading system also has a transceiver (34) configured to receive the first signal and deliver a second signal including loading information to the loading machine to initiate loading of the haul vehicle (12). The loading system further has a scale (22) configured to weigh the haul vehicle (12).
