PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving device with the dimension in the vehicle body vertical direction being smaller and with the center of gravity being further lowered while inhibiting stirring of oil by a rotor of a rotating electric machine, and an automobile. SOLUTION: A driving device 20 mounted on an automobile 1 operates under the condition that oil is reserved in the bottom of a mechanism housing chamber 24 accommodating rotating electric machines MG1, MG2, and transmits mechanical power from the rotating electric machines MG1, MG2 to a drive shaft 90. A power supply device 60 such as inverters 61, 62 capable of supplying power to the rotational electric machines MG1, MG2 is arranged in the vehicle body lower part of the rotational electric machines MG1, MG2 out of a housing 22 serving as an exterior sheath of the driving device 20. The dimension of the driving device 20 in the vehicle body vertical direction can be decreased as small as possible and the center of gravity can be lowered while inhibiting stirring of oil by rotors 51, 52 of the rotational electric machines MG1, MG2.
